Care and social therapy

Everyone needs a context in which they make a difference, and in Järna that idea has a long history.

A pond with a wooden footbridge and reeds, bird cherry in flower and the water beyond.

A long tradition in Järna

For almost a hundred years, the Järna area has been a place where people in need of special support can live, work and develop in a setting that sees the whole human being.

Social therapy is built on a simple observation: a person grows by being given responsibility for something real. The work is not a way of keeping busy while waiting for something else. It is part of life.

The seminary trained curative educators and social therapists, and today there are many organisations in the area working in curative education and social therapy.

Hagastiftelsen, one of the oldest friends of the place, has part of its work in the middle of the park. The training lives on here too: Värna, the trade association for anthroposophical curative education and social therapy, holds courses on the site.

In development

The foundation’s own work in care and social therapy is emerging. We will tell you more here once it has taken shape.
