Land and nature

The park and the garden. Here, work with the hands is part of learning, and care for the place is part of care for people.

The path through the greenhouse between lush beds, sunlight through the glass roof.

The land as teacher

The garden cannot be hurried. It teaches you patience, attention and how to see connections, qualities that are needed far beyond the flower beds.

The park in Ytterjärna is tended using biodynamic methods, in which the soil, the plants, the animals and the people are seen as parts of the same living whole. The water is cleansed in ponds, and the garden waste becomes compost that goes back into the soil.

For us, this is not just maintenance. It is a field of work where people can learn a craft and see the result of what they do. We are working so that more people can take part in that work, for instance together with day activity services in the area.

The park and the garden

Twelve hectares of Demeter-certified park, with rose gardens, fruit trees and an old greenhouse.

The work follows the year, from sowing in the greenhouse to the harvest and the leaves that turn into new soil.

About the park and the garden

The old greenhouse in mist by a gravel path, a green bench beside the glass wall.

What grows here returns to the soil and to the people. It is a cycle, not production.

Seedlings on a work table inside the greenhouse, growing beds in the foreground.
An old, gnarled apple tree in a meadow of dandelion clocks.
