The park and the garden

Around twelve hectares of park, laid out in the 1960s and today Sweden’s first and so far only Demeter-certified garden park. Here there is work for every season and for many different hands.

Biodynamic cultivation

In biodynamic cultivation, the farm or the garden is seen as a living organism in which soil, plants, animals and people are connected.

The soil is built up with compost and special preparations, and the work follows the rhythms of the year and the day. The aim is not only a harvest, but soil that becomes more fertile every year and a garden that thrives in the long term.

The park is certified by Demeter. This means that the way it is tended is checked against the rules for biodynamic cultivation.

The old greenhouse

In the park stands an old greenhouse of wood and glass. Here seedlings are raised in spring, here the tender plants overwinter, and here you can stand on a rainy day and still work in the soil.

It is one of the finest rooms here, and one of the most useful.

The roses

The park has two rose gardens with 160 rose bushes in 120 different varieties. Early on a summer morning, when the mist still lies over the grass, they are at their most beautiful.

The water

The water from the buildings is purified biologically in a chain of ponds, where it is led through sculpted stone basins that make it move and take up oxygen. The ponds are both beautiful and functional, and part of the park’s cycle.

A garden cannot be hurried. It teaches you to wait, and to see.

All year round

  1. Spring

Sowing in the greenhouse, pruning the fruit trees, flower beds waking up and compost being turned.

  2. Summer

The roses bloom, the perennials stand tall and the park needs tending every day.

  3. Autumn

An apple harvest that becomes juice, compost heaps being rebuilt and leaves that turn into new soil.

  4. Winter

Firewood being split, benches and nest boxes being mended, and plans for next year.
